Common Proverbs

A proverb is a short sentence, etc., usually known by many people, stating something commonly experienced or giving advice 

                                PROVERB

  1. Waste not, want not.
  2. Necessity knows no law.
  3. A little learning is a dangerous thing.
  4. A friend in need is a friend indeed.
  5. Pride goes before fall.
  6. Charity begins at home.
  7. Where there is a will; there is a way.
  8. To kill two birds with one stone.
  9. It takes two to make a quarrel.
  10. All’s well that ends well.
  11. No pains, no gains.
  12. To add insult to injury.
  13. Eat, drink and be merry.
  14. Empty vessels sound much.
  15. Hunger is the best sauce.
  16. Let by-gones be by-gones.

  50. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. saying This means that not all people have the same opinions about what is attractive.
  51. Beauty is only skin deep. saying said to emphasize that a person's character is more important than how they look
  52. a rolling stone (gathers no moss) old-fashioned saying said to mean that a person who is always travelling and changing jobs has the advantage of having no responsibilities, but also has disadvantages such as having no permanent place to live
