The Hare and the Tortoise
Once there lived a hare in a forest. He was very proud of running fast. One afternoon he was taking rest. Suddenly, he saw a tortoise walking past him. He laughed at the slow pace of the tortoise. Being angry, the tortoise proposed a race. And the hare agreed. A day was fixed for the race and all the animals and the birds of the forest were present there. The race started. Then and there, the hare left the tortoise far behind and he thought of taking some rest again in a bush. When the hare was napping, the tortoise never stopped walking. He kept on plodding. Soon, he was about to touch the finishing line. At that time, the hare woke up and saw the tortoise touching the finishing rope. Moral: “Slow but steady wins the race.”
